The Northern IL Cutting Horse Assocication and Barry's Livestock had a 3 day show at Double G in Sterling IL. BX Photo was on hand to take pictures. I had a rare oppurtunity to have a professional picture taken of my Stallion and three of his "babies". Spider Oak if on the far left, then Mia Oak, Spiders Angel Oak and Cassidy Oak who is also a stallion. Anyone that has tried to get a good picture of one horse can understand how hard it was to get 2 mares and 2 stallions to stand still with their ears up. My friends Christina and Norm helped me get this accomplished. Norm owns Cassidy and Christina and her family have a Spider filly at home. I was so proud of Mia Oak, she earned her certificate of achievment this weekend from NCHA. That is earned by a horse that has earned at least $1500 in approved shows. This is the first one earned by a horse that I bred and raised. Angel is a 2 year old and Cassidy a 3 year old, so they have yet to compete.

Nice family photo! Really nice.
Nice photo. I have always wanted to do something similar with our horses. Congrats to you on your filly. I helped train cutting horses in Mn. and really loved starting those colts. Now I need to start looking for an older cutter for my daughter to use in HS Rodeo next year. I have heard that most of the kids lease horses for this... It will be fun looking.
Thanks, my boyfriend is working on training a 2 year old and 3 year old. I love working the young ones on cattle. Your daughter should have fun in HS Rodeo, they really get a chance to win a lot of neat prizes. My boyfriends niece used his horses for the four years and decided to go on. Instead of buying the one she kept winning on she went and bought one from someone else. Her mom wanted her to have a younger horse. How's that for gratitude. You might want to lease at first, if she really likes it find a nice horse to buy. It would be worth it. Gerald's niece won a few scholarships. They have a big show in OK that really gives out big scholarships.
Awesome photo! Everyone was looking, ears perked, just perfect! Found you via Callie on Midwest Horse. Well be back to visit again!
Great photo! I would love something like that!! Trouble is I am always the one behind the lens!!Beautiful Horses!
Like little Mack trucks!
Thanks, Train Wreck. My Spider throws nice solid babies. I bred one mare to him this year, hoping for a bay filly. We have really cut our breeding down. We can only ride so many. Welcome to you kdw. I hope to have more time to post. I want to keep this blog more dedicated to cutting, it isn't as popular here as out west.
